Ganesh Chaturthi, a cherished Hindu festival, graces the hearts of Indians annually in the months of August and September. This auspicious celebration revolves around the installation of Lord Ganesha's clay idol in homes, temples, and grand pandals, spanning ten joyous days. The festival marks the birthday of Lord Ganesha, revered as the God of Fortune, and commences in the Hindu month of Bhadrapada, typically falling between August and September. Communities and pandals alike come alive with fervor and devotion as they partake in the festivities. For those unable to join the local revelries, here's a guide on how to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi at home:

Worshipping Lord Ganesha:

  1. Begin by cleansing your home thoroughly before welcoming Lord Ganesha's idol.
  2. Gather your family to join in the welcoming ceremony.
  3. Adorn the idol with durva, flowers, modaks, and karanji.

Items Required for Puja:

Pooja Vidhi:

  1. Place the Eco-friendly Ganpati Idol on a raised platform covered with a red cloth.
  2. Light a ghee diya lamp before commencing the puja.
  3. Invite Lord Ganesha into your home and offer your prayers.
  4. Present flowers to Lord Ganpati.
  5. Wash Lord Ganesha's feet with Ganga Jal.
  6. Tie Roli on the right hand of the Lord Ganesha statue.
  7. Prepare Panchamrit with milk, sugar, curd, ghee, and honey to offer to Lord Ganpati.
  8. Drink Panchamrit with your left hand.
  9. Drape the upper body of Lord Ganpati's idol with decorative cloth.
  10. Offer Chandan Tikka, Camphor, Durva, and Janeu to Lord Ganesha, and light the Ghee Diya along with the incense stick.
  11. Present bhog to Lord Ganpati, including sweets, Modak, and fruits.
  12. Offer the whole coconut, Supari, Paan, Haldi, Kumkum, and Camphor to Lord Ganesha by placing all items on a Puja Thali or a plate.
  13. It is optional but customary to offer currency notes.
  14. Conclude by reading and singing the Ganesha Aarti, followed by offering flowers and bowing before Lord Ganpati. Remember to seek forgiveness for any mistakes during the puja.
